This National Volunteer Week (April 27 – May 3), Halton Women’s Place is proudly celebrating the dedicated individuals who give their time, energy, and hearts to support women and children in our community.
At Halton Women’s Place, every role matters. Whether welcoming calls at reception, sorting donations, assisting at fundraising events, supporting children's programming, or offering behind-the-scenes support, volunteers are a vital part of the work we do. Their compassion helps transform our shelters into spaces of safety, dignity, and healing.
Volunteers bring warmth to every corner of our Milton and Burlington shelters. Their support ensures women and children facing abuse feel seen, heard, and cared for. Because of them, we’re able to provide more than shelter—we offer hope and new beginnings.
Volunteer opportunities at HWP are flexible and varied, from administrative tasks to helping at community events, and even sharing special skills like yoga, baking, or crafting. Whether you have an hour a month or a few hours each week, there’s a place for you to make a difference.
To every volunteer, thank you. You are a part of every success story, every step forward, and every wave of change. Your impact is felt—and deeply appreciated.
If you’re inspired to give back and be part of something meaningful, we would love to hear from you.
