This week in our men's support group we discussed the topic of motivation. What is it? How do we turn it on? and more deeply, does it even exist?

If there were a child in the middle of the road, rushing to save them wouldn't be called motivation — it would be called instinct, compassion, or moral urgency. It’s a visceral, immediate response driven by empathy and our innate sense of right and wrong. It’s a reflex of the heart and conscience — a protective impulse rooted in our humanity. We act not because we’re motivated, but because WE MUST. It's a moment where instant, purposeful action is created.

If we apply this method to our own selves - be it for getting healthier, learning a new hobby or any other want we have... it's not about being motivated - it's about action - purposeful instant action.
